Master of the Flying Guillotine Soundtrack - Vinyl LP
In May of 2022, just outside of Taipei city proper, in Jimmy Wang Yu's private smoking room on his posh compound, distant relatives and handlers of Jimmy's estate found an ornately carved jade case which was nestled inside of a massive hollowed out golden buddha statue, shrouded under an embroidered silk tapestry of a golden dragon. The jade case itself was an ancient puzzle for which the estate hired the top history scholars at NTU (National Taiwan University) to solve. Once in, they found a single tape reel, a master for the unauthorized soundtrack of Master of the Flying Guillotine.
The tape itself included 6 songs by krautrock/electronic music legends of the time: 2 tracks by Neu!, 3 tracks by Kraftwerk and a lone song by soundtrack gods, Tangerine Dream. All songs appear on albums by these bands but legend has it when played in the right order and allowing for a 15 second pause in the middle, the listener can unlock a power that has never been wielded by a mere mortal.
Since its discovery, all of the evidence, the tape, the buddha, the jade case, the tapestry and the reel itself, has gone missing. Many suspect the influence and intrusion of the triads, especially with Jimmy's connection to the Bamboo Union, but just yesterday a mysterious box was delivered to our Echo Park warehouse with no name, no address just the letters SHQ.
Inside were black vinyl pressings of "the tape". With lack of better judgement and willingness to live on the edge for a buck, we are selling these LPs while we can. They are black market and Triad-related contraband for certain, and once they find out that we are moving these units our lives will be in danger. But, this must be shared with the world.
